New Anesthesia Rules Expand Services

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This unique airway management program is designed to give participants a chance to learn, practice, and demonstrate their ability in applying many airway skills used in resuscitation.  This course is approved for 4 hours of continuing education credits and is in compliance with newly established Florida laws regarding Florida licensed dentists practicing without an anesthesia permit. 

COURSE SCHEDULE

8:30 am – 9:00 am Registration & Breakfast
9:00 am – 1:00 pm Presentation/Hands-On Experience

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Darren Cohen, D.O.

Darren Cohen, D.O. is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Cohen provides lifesaving care as an attending physician at Memorial Regional Hospital and NSU’s Student Medical Clinic.  With years of experience, Dr. Cohen is American Heart Association instructor certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Airway Management.  When not teaching in NSU’s EMS department, Dr. Cohen can be found working closely with osteopathic medical students utilizing high fidelity manikins to develop student's examination, medical decision making and procedural skills.

  • Effects of sedation on respiration
  • Airway exam and at-risk patients
