Continuing Education Overview

Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine is responsible for promoting lifelong learning for dental professionals with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and health outcomes. The team devoted to continuing education plays a major role in developing innovative educational programs focused on professional development, quality of care, and patient safety.

The Continuing Education Program is a recognized ADA CERP provider and is an approved continuing education provider by the Florida Board of Dentistry. The formal continuing education courses/programs are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credits.

Mission Statement

The mission of the office of dental continuing education is to promote lifelong learning through quality services and continuing education programs that promote the personal and professional development of our alumni and the healthcare community-at-large.

Goals

  • To provide and promote lifelong education beyond graduation and/or certification by presenting programs by experts in their respective fields of endeavor.
  • To provide courses reflecting the most recent academic information and changing technology, inclusive of controversial subject matters of concern.
  • To provide courses required for re-licensure.

CE Program Planner, CE Director and CE Staff has no relationships that may create conflicts of interest in planning ce programs.

General Information

Address: 3050 S. University Drive, Davie, FL 33314 Most courses are held in the Health Professions Division (HPD). Parking for continuing education participants is in the multilevel parking garage adjacent to NSU Health Professions Division. New University policy requires visitors to pay to park at $1/hr. via meters (located on the ground floor of the multilevel parking garage) or pay by phone using the PayByPhone application. Signs will be posted along the walkway directing attendees to the designated auditorium. Visitors may also create a visitor account and purchase a virtual permit ($5/day per vehicle).

We encourage you to register early. This will enable us to project enrollment and avoid unnecessary cancellation of courses. If the College of Dental Medicine determines that it is necessary to cancel a program, a full refund will be granted. Attempts to contact all registrants will be made at the time cancellation is determined. Please be aware that NSU College of Dental Medicine is not responsible for reimbursement of non-refundable airline tickets and any other travel expenses in the event of a course is cancelled.
Full refunds are granted only if notification is received via email, Fax, or phone message at least 3 days prior to the start of a lecture program and 7 days prior to hands-on programs. For cancellations received after this deadline, 75% of tuition will be refunded. If a registrant is a noshow or if no cancellation notice is received after the course begins, there is no exception and tuition is forfeited.
On rare occasions, inclement weather will necessitate cancellation of programs for that day only. If the University is closed, it will be announced on area radio stations, or you may call (800)-256-5065 at any time, day, or night.
The formal education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credit. The current term of acceptance extends from 5/1/23-6/30/27. Provider ID#214235
Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine is a member of the Association of Continuing Dental Education Providers (ACDE) associated with dental schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credits hours by Boards of Dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to the Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition at ADA.org.

NSU College of Dental Medicine Office of Continuing Education, along with ADAS CERP, feels this disclosure is important for participants to form their own judgment about each presentation.
Continuing education courses do not necessarily reflect the philosophies of the postdoctoral faculty or postdoctoral training programs. Sponsorship of continuing education courses by the NSU College of Dental Medicine does not imply subject matter, product, or technique endorsement. Courses may include subject matter of an experimental and/or controversial nature. This material is offered to the profession for educational purposes in the spirit of academic freedom. The Office of Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel any course, limit enrollment, modify the announced course content, or change the location, time, date, and faculty of any course as may be deemed necessary or advisable.
