This Course now includes a certified lactation consultant which is relevant to oral healthcare and plays a critical role during tongue tie release. Tongue tie release is a 2-tiered process that includes lactation consultant and surgeon.
In this combination lecture and hands-on Course, attendees will be introduced to the concept of laser frenectomies, an increasingly popular method by which dentists and physicians can treat tongue and lip ties in their patients.
This participantion course will teach the medical and dental tem how to accumulate all of the required data via history intake forms, evaluate when this procedure should be done, and then perform the procecure using laser technology. The course will also go over the practice management/marketing side of this procedre: how to network with lactation consultants, pediatricians, neonatalogists, and the rest of the medical team in order to grow your practice on neonatal dentistry.

The author of 16 papers and 6 textbooks on laser dentistry, he has presented over 300 seminars on5 continents from London to Florence to Dubai to Tokyo to Sydney and everywhere in between
Joy Funston RN International Board-Certified Lactation Consultation. Joy is the founder/CEO of Joyful Start, a Lactation Support private practice in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ser intro into lactation was when she herself was an inexperienced breastfeeding mom. Luckily the help she found was rom two of the co-founders of the International Board-Certified Lactation Consultation (IBCLC) profession. She successfully gained her own IBCLC credential during the infancy of that profession, more than 30 years ago.
