Dr. Alan Slootsky earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Rutgers School of Dental medicine in Newark, New Jersey in 1978. 

He is frequently involved in teaching graduate and post-graduate students, and in his private practice, focuses mainly on crowns and bridges, implant restorative treatment, and temporomandibular joint therapy. In 1979, Dr. Slootsky attended a GPR at Fitkin Hospital in New Jersey and since has completed course levels I through VI+ at the Pankey Institute. Additionally, in 1983, he earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and in 1995, he received his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. 

He has been a visiting faculty member at the Pankey Institute, as a teaching assistant, and has taught at Southeast College of Osteopathic Medicine on TMJ, and chair of the Advanced Crown and Bridge Department of the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic. 

Dr. Slootsky is an active member of The National Dental Practice-Based Research Network, and takes part in practice-based research studies at his practice, and is published in peer reviewed dental journals.
