Oscar Montoya

Dr. Montoya serves as an adjunct faculty in the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology discipline at the Department of Maxillofacial Medicine. He is a dentist graduated in 1990 from Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá, Colombia.  After some years practicing Dentistry, in 1996 he earned his master's degree of science in Orthodontics from Nueva Granada Military University in Colombia.  His interest in the growth and development of the craniofacial complex, motivated him to carry out research in this field and to continue studying this area.  In 2007, he obtained his master's degree in Physical Anthropology from Florida Atlantic University where the Phylogeny and Ontogeny of the species, Human Evolution, and Clinical Anatomy, were his areas of study.  In 2011, he received his master's degree in Forensic Science from the University of Florida with concentration in Forensic Odontology, Forensic Anthropology, and DNA analysis. 

He has participated in some research, publications, and conferences related to condylar growth under electromagnetic stimulation, the cranial base angle and its influence on the dental malocclusion, and the relationship between the cranial base and the facial profile in different human races.
