Dr. Lichtman graduated from Northwestern University’s Dental School in Chicago, and was chosen for their Advanced Prosthodontic Program with individual instruction from William F. Malone DDS (co-author of the textbook Tylman and Malone). Dr. Lichtman was then selected to become an Instructor at Northwestern University Dental School immediately upon graduation. Following teaching, Dr. Lichtman was offered a position in Manhattan, New York, as a dentist for the Screen Actors Guild Union. He then went on to own a private practice in Connecticut where he practiced for 25 years. Dr. Lichtman completed a fellowship in Dental Teaching and Learning at the University of North Carolina prior to his private practice retirement, in preparation of returning to teaching dentistry. Dr. Lichtman has taught at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine pre-doctoral clinic since 2010, initially teaching fixed and removable prosthodontics, and then serving as a Team Leader in the Department of Prosthodontics.
