Judith Chin

Judith Chin

Dr. Chin has been actively involved in pediatric dentistry since 1987.  She started off as a dental assistant and then studied to become a pediatric dentist over the years.  She has been involved both in private practice as well as academics.  She has been a Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator or Study Dentist in over 100 clinical trials throughout the years.  She has published over 40 articles and contributed several chapters in pediatric dental books.  She serves as a member on several national committees and is a peer reviewer for 5 international well-respected dental journals. 

 

Educational and professional background

Dr. Chin received her predoctoral degree from Indiana University.  She then practiced as a general dentist for several years.  She went on to specialize in pediatric dentistry and received her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and Master's degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  After her specialty training, she completed a NIH sponsored Fellowship in Craniofacial Anomalies at the University of California, San Francisco.  

 

Research & interests:

Early detection and prevention of caries, infection control, clinical trials.

 

Awards:

Dr. Chin has been recognized with several teaching and service awards over the years.

Teaching activities:

I teach residents in our dental clinics and in the operating room.  Additionally, I help teach residents during our Seminar Series held once a week for the entire day.  I am active in research as well as teaching. 

 

Favorite hobbies:

Being a mom, wife and hanging out with her family including her 2 dogs, arts and crafts, swimming.
