Dr. Theodore Splaver is a Board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who joined the NOVA faculty in 2006 upon retirement from a group surgical specialty practice in the State of Connecticut.
He received his DMD degree from the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, where he was president of the Omicron chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. His specialty training was obtained from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC and Harlem Hospital Center, NY, NY.
While in private practice, he taught in the OMS residency program at Harlem Hospital Center and the General Practice Residency at Park City Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. He held membership in numerous professional organizations, was active in local and state dental associations and is a Life Member of the ADA, and the American and International Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons.
At the time of his retirement from private practice, he was Attending Surgeon and Chief, Division of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.
Keenly interested in lie-long learning, he has lectured extensively and presently serves as President, Board of Directors, the American Institute of Oral Biology, a California-based provider of continuing education opportunities for dentists.
