Endodontics

Chairman's Letter

Kenneth N. Namerow, DDSThank you for your interest in our Endodontic Residency Program. Below is some information describing our program and information concerning the admissions process. The deadline for submitting your application is September 1st for the following July 1st entering class. However, applications are accepted and interviews granted as early as September. We look most favorably on the applicant that has at least 1-2 years experience following their dental school graduation.

The certificate in endodontics is granted in a 2 year program and is designed to meet the formal educational standards of the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. It will prepare the resident for successful completion of board certification by the American Board of Endodontics. Intensive training is given in clinical endodontics and correlated basic and medical sciences, and in other dental subjects related to the practice of endodontics. Supervised clinical training encompasses both surgical and non-surgical endodontics, ensuring clinical proficiency in these areas. Extensive opportunities exist for combined treatment of endodontic-periodontic problems and for endodontic management of teeth involved in major oral rehabilitative procedures.

All students must be prepared to meet the scholarly requirements that familiarize them with the development of endodontic theory and practice and permit intelligent evaluation of current techniques. The residency program requires that each student participate in research and the research project must be completed into a document suitable for publication in the Journal of Endodontics or a nationally or internationally recognized scientific journal. It is also expected that the resident present his or her findings at the annual session of the American Association of Endodontists We also offer a 3 year Masters of Science with an emphasis tract in Endodontics.

In addition, each student will participate in a surgical rotation at one of our partner universities in Tlaxcala , Mexico or Universidad Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain or Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru.

We believe our program offers a state-of-the-art facility with the latest advances in endodontic technology. We welcome your visit and look forward to receiving your completed application.

Sincerely,

Kenneth N. Namerow, DDS
