Continuing Education
Requirements for Florida License Renewal
As a condition of the biennial renewal of a license, each licensee is required to complete the following continuing education.
Dentists
Each dentist must complete a CPR course at the basic life support level, in addition to, 30 hours of continuing education, including:
- 2 hours in the prevention of medical errors
- 2 hours in domestic violence (every third biennium)
Dental Hygienists
Each dental hygienist must complete a CPR course at the basic life support level, in addition to, 24 hours of continuing education, including:
- 2 hours in the prevention of medical errors
- 2 hours in domestic violence (every third biennium)
The following courses are no longer required for renewal:
- Laws, Rules and Ethics
- HIV/AIDS (only required prior to first license renewal)
